DISCUSS

DISCUSS is a series of debates, inspired by Manchester’s celebrated history in progressive thinking, invention and the free trade of ideas.

The core proposal centres on that most traditional of pursuits – open and participatory debate – presenting the case ‘for’ and ‘against’, building the argument and considering the counterpoint; not with the pretension or ceremony of its Victorian predecessors, nor the hi-tech, hi-spec wizardry of tomorrow, but instead with a pared down, clean and exquisitely modern elegance.

All our venues wholly reflect and embody these principles, and we aim to offer a welcoming, inspiring and accessible event at the very heart of the original modern city.

Debates will be challenging and provocative, but not overly high-brow, intimidating or ‘glitterati’. Events will be inclusive, authentic and delivered with integrity. Foremost, they will be fun. No fuss, no clutter, no messing about, just a good old fashioned ding-dong.
